But he would not have gotten network coverage without this spectacle!

Looks like a pretty pro capitalist film. I hear the sequal was even more so.

Fox News Channel jumped the shark hardcore tonight...the post-circus celebration gushing over Zero's speech by Hume and the rest was nauseating; and Greta's 'she opened her eyes' opening was barf-inducing.

It is clear that people have been 'spoken to'...

The people that were murdered on Saturday didn't die in vain...they died to insure a second term for 'The One'. /extreme sarcasm

I am absolutely embarrassed to be an American tonight... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That is the best post I have read all day. It really hits the nail right on the head. No one can say it better than that.

{ Ping to the list on what Obamas speech was meant to accomplish)

Did any of you feel this memorial was a Sen. Paul Wellstone moment?

With all the cheers, applauds and whistles...

and than all the handshaking afterwards I feel the dead was upstaged!

Where was the reverence?

“The fact that Krauthammer and Hume have drunk the kool aid seems to have come from the Tea Party’s success in the November Elections.
They are terrified of the tea Party and they are scared s**tless of Sarah Palin.”

That's exactly right. Fox News may be our corner of the establishment, but it is still part of the establishment. They can't face up to the grim reality that the smart guy have systematically screwed everything up for decades. They desperately want the first African American President who was also head of the Harvard Law Review to succeed. So desperately that they are becoming increasingly separated from reality. Every time Obama opens his mouth incoherent nonsense emerges. He's smoother on script but not a bit more intelligent. Somehow Dr. K and company never notice. We're going to have to get ourselves a better class of commentator.

“But he would not have gotten network coverage without this spectacle!”

This spectacle was all so transparent (pun intended). Like an actor, you could see Obama trying to master the moment while focusing on his timing, tone and delivery. This was pure political theater being crafted for the (friendly) network coverage. The man is so narcissistic he is incapable of showing genuine empathy towards anyone but himself. I don’t think this “production” was the game changer he hoped it would be. The whole thing lacked the somber dignity it deserved.

“Spectators also roared when Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik was shown on the large screen. Dupnik drew praise and criticism after he blamed the rampage in part on extreme political rhetoric, bigotry and hatred.”

I find this disturbing. This sheriff has behaved improperly and is not to be admired. I only all the later half of the POTUS speech over the internet, but except for the uncalled for chearing by the crowd, I must admit it was well written and well delivered. However, we know if is empty rhetoric. To him, bipartisan means doing things his way. Disagreement is only acceptable if it is from his side.

Expect his favorables to go up for a week or so, and then this will be forgotten and things will get back to him being unpopular.

It is a nice service.

You joined FR today to post this piece of tripe? The so-called "service" was an appalling display of self-aggrandisement on the part of almost everyone there. I was embarrassed and sickened by the whole thing.
