I belong to a couple other forums that use SMF. It’s OK for their purposes, but those forums don’t have 1/1000th the traffic of FR.

It’s just that an out of the box PHP forum software probably hosted on a VPS by a hosting company who only has 2 IP’s doesn’t seem to me to be conducive to future expansion to try to rival FR. I guess that they could change software and hosters as they grew, but... maybe we should ask JohnRob what that might entail.
No wait, I already know from my little server and believe me, I wouldn’t wish those headaches on a liberal. Oh, wait... on second thought, yes I would. [even bigger grin]
