Two additional Los Angeles students have been charged after a shooting that wounded and hospitalized two other Gardena High School students, including one who was in critical condition Wednesday with a head wound, police said.

Both students -- a boy and a girl -- were arrested late Tuesday and are being held on suspicion of being accessory to a felony, said Lt. Randy Brooks of the Los Angeles school police.

A 17-year-old male student, a senior, was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly brought an automatic handgun in his backpack to a health class and the gun accidentally fired one round when the backpack was put on a desk, authorities said.

You forgot it was an AUTOMATIC Pistol.

I’ve got to get one of those!

Good brief overview Zakeet, glad that all the “allegedly” this and “alledgedly” that were cut out, thanks. Yeah right, He “set” be backpack down and the gun went off, well that’s a pretty bad piece of engineering and design, I’d be curious to know what it was.

Notice all the cover-up and I don’t think any student said a peep, I would say that they are chock full of self-esteem, certainly not humility or any deference to decency.

>>The high school hadn’t been performing daily random searches of students with a metal detecting wand. <<

We never had a metal detector in my high school and yet, oddly, nobody was ever shot.

What are the names of those arrested? Any connection to the gangs?

We didn't have metal detectors either where I grew up and nobody ever got shot.

Moreover, most of the guys toted a rifle and a pistol in their car.

These were considered essential in rural Western Kansas because you might spot a coyote on the long drive to and from school (which paid a bounty), and you had chores before and after school and would frequently run into a varmint such as a rattlesnake or skunk.

We all also carried big working knives (even inside the school) which we used for a variety of purposes. Never an incident here either.

And to top it all off, we almost always left our cars unlocked.

That’s because back in the day, disputes were settled with fists after school or folks just calmed down and figured that whatever “offense” had been given, just wasn’t that big of a deal.

Today...a bunch of pansy ass cowards who have no coping skills, finding “offense” at any little thing and using guns to “settle” the score.

One round fired. Not an automatic (which would continue to fire as long as the trigger is depressed.)

Nothing "accidental". Negligent surely--not having a pistol in holster (my speculation, but I bet true) where the trigger can be activated by anything that might touch the trigger.

automatic handgun

Obviously it was a machine pistol legally bought at a CA gun store before it was snuck across the border to kill Mexican children, before it made its way back to the US /s

Let me guess which one it was:

I wonder which one it was? Bet he got it from Mexico, after being bought legally in a CA gun store! /s

/What are the names of those arrested? Any connection to the gangs?/

CA law does not allow anyone to reveal names of minors charged with crimes. (I am sure there are exceptions.)

If the DA decides to charge the student, who brought the gun, as an adult, then he could reveal his name...
