Fact is, huge teenage boys of any color make people nervous. We know they have more strength and energy than judgment or compassion at that age, generally speaking.

The night he and my husband arrived in town to move him into his new apartment, they were stopped on the interstate by the police, allegedly for not moving to the outer lane when passing a police car that had stopped another driver

Ignoring the fact that more cops are killed that way than any other way.

Not only did America elect a (pseudo-) black president two years ago, he wasn’t elected based on his hefty resume or depth of experience but on the basis of race.

Where were the howlers then?

That “racist” label is worn thinner than Michael Jordan’s hair.

"African-American men," read the subheading, "are still often judged by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character."

Black men are judged by the content of their character and, more often than not, that's the problem.

“the last couple of times I was on BART, I could feel I was making several white women nervous when I sat near them. ... I could just tell.”

There is always percieved racism if you look for it. When I worked at Dillard’s as a sales person, my job was to help customers and be available for help if necessary. An African-American woman reported me for “following her around” because she was black. It never entered her mind that I was just there to help her.

How does he know these ladies haven’t been harassed by young men of ANY color before?

Can you imagine having an inbred excuse for every failure?? wow! How do I explain getting pulled over for dim license plate lights. I was driving a truck too, not a Crown Vic with 20’s.

“...her 6-foot-5-inch son, then 16, “stormed into the house complaining to no one in particular: ‘Why does everyone assume that just because I’m black, I play basketball?”

Same thing has always happened to me and I couldn’t be anymore white. To Belk’s son: It’s your height dummy.

The fact is the mission of liberals is to make every class of Americans, other than the white rich, victims. “Minorities” are one example. But they also have tried to make women, homosexuals, and practically anyone else who is willing to be considered victims. That is what Dems build their base on...having victims for constituents.

There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.

Belk said that her 6-foot-5-inch son, then 16, "stormed into the house complaining to no one in particular: 'Why does everyone assume that just because I'm black, I play basketball? That's just plain racist.

Why wouldn't you play basketball? You mean to say black men can't jump?

LOL, oh how I wish my inter-racial encounters involved such trivialities!

More elbow room on the subway, blithe assumptions of athletic prowess, a matter-of-fact encounter with LE for a driving infraction?

This young man needs a holiday in his honor just for managing to carry on.
