We get it. You don't like Palin and rag on her at every opportunity. Why even sniff around threads that mention her? It would appear to be a waste of your time. If your aim is to cool the enthusiasm of her supporters...sorry, no sale.

I’m more convinced than ever she is not running after that. I don’t blame her btw. I like sarah a ton and really cringe at the thought of the 24 7 nuke attacks against her by the vipers, vultures, and evil scum in both parties.

Well, for those touting "WTF moments," Ms. Palin had one of her own in the interview:

VAN SUSTEREN: Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is still with us. And Governor, last night there was a lot of discussion about the Sputnik moment that the president talked about. Do you agree with him? Do you -- and is this our moment?

PALIN: That was another one of those WTF moments, when he so often repeated this Sputnik moment that he would aspire Americans to celebrate. And he needs to remember that what happened back then with the former communist USSR and their victory in that race to space, yes, they won, but they also incurred so much debt at the time that it resulted in the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union.

This is probably the only thing that will survive that interview, because it's a silly mistake. Sputnik did not bankrupt the Soviet Union.

Sputnik kicked off the space race ... and for those keeping track, the Russians are still doing pretty well in that department.

The arms race, especially in the Reagan era, is what bankrupted the Soviets.

As one leftish commentator put it, "... and only took 34 years for Sputnik to bankrupt the Soviet Union -- a mere blink of the eye."
