Ex-state official in 'Joe the Plumber' case gets county job

DAYTON -- A county agency has hired Ohio's former social services director, who quit over a records check on the campaign figure known as "Joe the Plumber."

Helen Jones-Kelley resigned in December 2008 as director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. That was after an investigation found she improperly used state computers to find personal information on Samuel J. Wurzelbacher of the Toledo area.

Jones-Kelley was hired yesterday to lead the Montgomery County Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services Board.

Board Vice Chairman Stan Eichenaur tells the Dayton Daily News that Jones-Kelley has acknowledged that mistakes were made.

Wurzelbacher became famous after questioning Barack Obama during a 2008 presidential campaign event.

He was not a “campaign figure” at the time, he was a private citizen who dared asked the messiah a question.

This story reminds me of the teachers who get fired for molesting kids simply getting a job at another school district.

Helen Jones-Kelley

Never trust a woman with a hyphenated last name.

She should be barred from ever working for any public agency. She misused the power of BIG government on a personal witch-hunt/vendetta to punish a citizen who spoke his mind. Those who misuse the awful power of government are never to be trusted.

You want the plasma to really boil? Just wait until you find out how much she’s making in salary, bonus, and covered expenses!

Next time someone dares ask Obama a difficult question, you can be sure that she’ll look into her records to see if that person was ever treated for drug addiction or mental health.

A black woman. What a shock. Did you know black women are 400% more likely to work for the state or local gov’t than white women, and 650% more likely than white males? How many of you have had run ins with these racist Napoleons?

Those who misuse the awful power of government are never to be trusted.

Someone in my husband's family used their access to info to check up on another family member's firearms purchases. The one doing the "checking" works for the ATF and is a hardcore lib.

It's an AP article so I didn't expect all of it to be fact based.

She’ll be able to do more damage there than in her old job.

Don’t tell me. Did they choose her to lead the Montgomery County Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services Board because she is an expert on the subject—perhaps a crazy drug addict?

Drug Addiction & Mental Health? Do you perhaps think she met the "job profile"?

That was my thought on the matter when I read that ~ she already knows how to spell all the words!

If not her someone else will, by not punishing abuses of power more abuses are encouraged.

Anyone, anywhere that checks out people without the right of LAW is a petty tyrant and an enemy of freedom.
