I am a veteran. America is in deep financial trouble. No group will be immune from cost cutting measures. So get it on and stop sniveling. Just make sure that everybody feels the knife.

I agree with both of you. Those Veteran's benefits will amount to nothing if the country collapses.

Having said that, cut the waste, not the benefits. Bachmann better make that clear if she doesn't want to be Palin'd by the MSM.

I collect social security and a va check. It’s about 1400.00 a month. I realize I am living too high on the hog and the offset would drop me around 1000. a month. I might be able to survive in Mexico.

I hear it called double dipping but it’s really not. We paid into social security all of our lives and that is the same as everyone else. Why should it be cut? VA compensation is for being injured/disabled in the service. If you offset/cut that then veterans are no longer being compensated for being injured. They would then be collecting the same as those that did not serve, then what is the point od serving if you will not be compensated for being injured? Seriously. If the people care that little about service people that they would no longer compensate them on sacrificing their health then I say better to not serve. What’s next, the small lump sum payment when one is killed? Just keep doling out welfare and cut this, sounds on par.
