All too true. Yet were we so inclined, I'm sure we could find 10 people hurt by big government for every 1 "victim" they trot out who may be, may be affected by cuts.
Every single person out there that pays taxes is a victim of big government. Is there something you want to do but can't afford? Thank the tax man. Renovate your home? Send your kids to college? Fix up your old car or replace it? Maybe go out to dinner once a month? Go back to school yourself, get a degree and a better job? Many of the small to modest things we want to do but can't afford are directly attributable to the money we pour down that 'rat-hole known as taxes.
So yeah, my basement sits unfinished while the government funds "art" of Jesus in urine with my tax dollars. I'm driving a 10 year old car that needs a lot of work while the government uses my money to fund abortions and healthcare for illegal aliens they refuse to keep out of my Country.
And even you smug lazy {expletives} out there that don't pay any taxes and are getting a free ride at my expense... You're not getting away scott-free either. Everything you buy, everything you do in your life costs more too (and thus you are just as limited as me) because of the bite the parasitic government takes out of the businesses you deal with. So yuk it up, you're in this just as deep as me. We all have an interest in a less intrusive, smaller, weaker, limited government.
Yes, the hand-out is also robbing them of their incentive to pursue their own happiness that won’t come about while waiting on the next benefit check being deposited into the debit card.
Your statement, while true, will not convince a single tax taker. As long as it is profitable for a segment of society to be unproductive, they will be unproductive and that number may be a majority already, it certainly is growing. L.B.J.s "war on poverty" is a major reason for this mess.
