So much for the 'religion of peace' protecting Christians, Sabians, Jews, and anyone else who believes in God, as explicitly instructed in their own scripture. [2.62] Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

That’s only the second Surah - early on when Mohammed was still trying to talk Jews and Christians into following him. When they don’t, he decides that beheading is a more suitable strategy and the tone of the Koran changes accordingly.
