It's not actually "inflation" ~ what's happened is volume declined while at the same time leaving the same amount of territory to be covered.

You have to increase the price per piece to end up with the amount of revenue needed to operate the total system.

In the aggregate USPS costs less now than it did 3 years ago.

Awesome chart.

You can see why I'm a silver, gold, and Palladium bigot.

Gotta look into corn and cotton. Looks like I missed out (so far).

Today is a good day to die.

mho...Don't know about anything else but these (three) are the big three which make a society comfortable. 1) shelter from the elements 2) relatively low Food costs 3) low energy costs. These three (imho) help a society grow and prosper. I pray this is only a blip on the charts. If it continues and goes beyond a blip, our society will break down more than what is being experienced....imho. Hyperinslation (new word) may be attempting to slay the world in which all of us live.

Obviously our government thinks we have been successfully dumbed down enough that we will never figure out they don’t report the inflation on the things we need most food, energy, etc.

The government produces many inflation measures. Lots of them include food and energy. Try this one.

Here's the detail behind CPI-U (PDF File)

Good old Todd defender or the big obama/sharia backing banks and now our government to the rescue.

Everyone except you seems to know when the inflation index is reported on publicly they do not include food and energy in the inflation index if they did they would have to give Social Security Cola increases.

Not defending anybody. Just pointing out your false belief that the government does not include food and energy in inflation calculations. It's a common error, so you shouldn't feel too bad.

when the inflation index is reported on publicly they do not include food and energy in the inflation index

You are mistaken. They commonly release two numbers each month. CPI, which includes everything and "Core CPI" which excludes food and energy.
