Sleeper Cells in the USA
Family Security Matters ^ | January 26, 2011 | Dave Gaubatz

There is every reason to suspect that we will endure suicide missions by Islamist sleeper cells. They are already in place. They are waiting for the right time. I know this from experience.

I have worked over 15 years as a U.S. Federal Agent, a U.S. State Department Arabic linguist, and the first civilian Federal Agent deployed into Iraq at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Since returning from Iraq I have been involved in terrorism analysis, specifically the mindset of terrorists. During my extensive research on sleeper cells I have talked with hundreds of people from the Middle East from all walks of life, and have talked with Iraqi Government officials, Iraqi military and Iraqi police officers. In addition I have interviewed numerous counter-terrorism specialists in the U.S. and abroad. In 2006 I trained over 4000 U.S. Law Enforcement officers in Basic Investigative Arabic and counter-terrorism. The conclusions of my research lead to the title of this article.

U.S. citizens need to understand there are people trained and prepared to carry our suicide missions in the U.S. and nothing are off limits. Churches, malls, and even the schools our children attend are not off limits to suicide bombers. It is only a relatively short time before the U.S. will begin seeing suicide terrorist missions.

FamilySecurityMatters.org Contributing Editor Dave Gaubatz spent 20 years as an active duty USAF (Special Agent/OSI), 3.5 years as a civilian 1811 Federal Agent, trained by the U.S. State Department in Arabic, and was the first U.S. Federal Agent to enter Iraq in 2003. He is also a counterterrorism counterintelligence officer. He is co-author of the book Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America.

I’d believe there are a few people in the US willing to do this. I don’t believe there are massive numbers.

John Muhammad was just one guy with a kid driver and an old car with a big trunk.

Attacks on schools are my greatest concern. I expect one of the earliest acts will be an attempt at simultaneous, coordinated, Beslan-style assaults on schoolchildren. Nothing instills more fear in Americans than having their children in dire peril.

This subject has gone on the back burner and should be front and center.

I'll bet their presence has easily doubled or tripled in the U.S. since then.

"I greatly fear it will take another Beslan massacre before we wake up to the real threat that is before us."

If a Beslan-style attack occurred in the US at this time tomorrow, the evening news and commentary shows would be full of people citing the need for stricter gun laws.

How do you explain them attacking our financial district in 01? We were funding them then too.

Oh very nice. Yeah I’ve Double Tap 230 grain flatnosed, and Buffalo Bore in other calibers. I’ve read the recommendations of the 10mm Silvertip by an individual who was involved in the testing of 10mm and associated autos in the ‘80’s. Regardless, the 10mm is a great round with less muzzle flip than .45acp, just wish more people used it to help ammo availability/cost.

With a heavy dose of Palin-blame.

Some of the ones trying to take over in Egypt are hamas. You know the same hamas Obama gave billions of dollars to?

This needs to be in the news and reported but it won’t be because Obama seemingly likes to fund and play lawyer for; overseas contingency operations.

I think they like it here too much to commit suicide. Yawn

You're a perfect fit for the apathy that's taken hold in the country. Maybe someone will wake you up when the shooting starts.

Ft. Hood shootings was not a suicide mission.

I suppose you could count the Christmas Day and Times Square incidents, but how much preparation did those (failed) events take?

" . . .make the price for it more than any of them are ever willing to pay."

I don't think there is any way to stop the crazies unless it's to remove whatever motivation they might have. If they are fantisying about their families being able to get an official bombers trophy and $500 bucks, start sending death squads around to their friends, family and next of kin. With nobody to brag about them for blowing themselves up or nobody left to even remember their name, that might cut down on some of the bombings.

I'm sure there are better ideas, aren't there?

After all, it's an all-out war. Anything and everything goes to insure survival, especially if you are the peaceful one.

It's a simple question of kill or be killed. I say strike the vermin where they sleep and let the mosques sop up the blood.

LIVE FREE OR DIE!

Situational awareness? Isn’t that the same thing( with much smaller words) that Big Sis said and what she was roundly criticized for, here on FreeRepublic?

The gripe we here at FR had with Napolitano was the direction of the focus... not on the islamic threat, but at people like.. us.

Iran is responsible for most of this; we will need to level about 5000 targets there if we are to ever find peace. imho

You make good points.

This is at the heart of their “religious” playbook:
Qur’an:8:39 “Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah.”
Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
Qur’an:9:29 “Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission.”
Qur’an:9:123 “Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you.”
Qur’an:47:4 “When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle, smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them…Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam.”

And, that view continues to this day.
FReeper Qbert reminds us of October 2010 remarks by Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie:
- “Arab and Muslim regimes are betraying their people by failing to confront the Muslim’s real enemies, not only Israel but also the United States. Waging jihad against both of these infidels is a commandment of Allah that cannot be disregarded.
- “All Muslims…crucially need to understand that (what) the (Muslim) nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as the enemies pursue life.”

One should ask, “How much notice does our government require?”

Terrorist deeds can be made far more expensive than the mere life of the individual bomber. As long as jihadis see the cause moving forward at a reasonable ratio of lives exchanged, they will continue to believe in the inevitability of eventual success and therefore the value of suicidal sacrifice. The pushback must deny them their ratio, i.e., it must be so vigorous for each such attack they become convinced the “time isn’t right.”
