A doctor who reviewed Sanchez's medical records for the Houston Chronicle said they showed that UTMB ejected a woman with a potentially fatal condition because she was unable to pay.

Wouldn't disclosure of this type of information to a newspaper be a violation of the privacy provisions of the federal HIPPA laws?

Probably a violation of HIPAA...unless the patient wanted those records released to attempt to outrage the public.
