NY-26 REP. CHRIS LEE RESIGNS AMID CRAIGSLIST DATING SCANDAL [GOP Western NYS]
NY Daily News ^ | 2/9/11 | Celeste Katz

Posted on 02/09/2011 3:33:28 PM PST by StatenIsland

Married NY-26 Rep. Chris Lee has just announced that he is resigning in the wake of scandal set off by a damning Gawker report of him scamming on chicks on Craigslist:

“It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Western New York. I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness.

“The challenges we face in Western New York and across the country are too serious for me to allow this distraction to continue, and so I am announcing that I have resigned my seat in Congress effective immediately.”

He should have just run a prostitution ring from his basement or became grand-whatever of the klan, then the Democrats would embrace him as one of their own.

If he were a Dem he could run a prostitution ring, be a KKK leader or drown his pregnant lover in a river with no repercussions except a guaranteed lifelong job in Congress.

GOOD! Anyone with such poor judgment, lack of common decency should not hold any elected office.

Time for 85% of democrats to resign. Oh yeah, they don’t have morals, standards, conscience, etc. Never mind.

Why does this happen every time the GOP is in power? I am tired of these idiots continuing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Will someone get through to these morons that people are watching. Personal actions matter. Nothing is private. Most importantly if they do not act honorably they will be tossed.

He could also have shared cigars and then some with an intern in the Oval Office while on the phone with world leaders. Apparently democrats don't have to resign for that either, even if further shamed by impeachment.

That’s kind of rough of Gawker, referring to the 34yo woman as ‘middle aged’.
