LOL And America expected what?

Personally, I think they should shoot the journalists on sight, but then we would be getting reports from Hell before the morning.

Looks like there were still thousands of protesters in the square waiting for their unicorn. The report I saw earlier said the military was trying to force them to leave.

I thought they had already announced that they were going to do this. They have appointed a governing council and are supposedly going to be preparing for elections in September. But I’m pretty sure they already announced this at the time that Mubarak resigned.

Egypt will not have a democracy like Denmark by December, but what they have today is better than what they had last week.

Apparently it’s a sop to the protesters—the present parliament is a Mubarak rubber stamp, dontcha know, so, once a new constitution is written, there can be elections in July or August, rather than September, dontcha know, so all you freedom-loving youngsters in the square can just go home now. Move along, boys and girls, nothing to see here, just go home. Daddy Generals in charge now. Everything’s going to be okay. Just move along now. Go home. Let us take care of things. We love you. We’ll just rewrite the constitution quickly and you’ll just love the results. Big bad Hosie is gone. All is well. Move along now. Nothing to see here.

That’s the BBC spin. Generals are loveable fuzzballs now.

well the protesters demanded that the entire government be eliminated, looks like the military is complying

be careful what you wish for, you might get it

And it looks like another couple weeks of Egyptian Superbowl parties in the streets

According to Barry’s old pal, Vladimir Lenin,

“Democracy is indispensable to socialism.”

I doubt it. Our military would take him out if he tried a ,ilitary takeover.

Egypt will not have a democracy like Denmark by December, but what they have today is better than what they had last week.

Democracy alone is not mutually exclusive with tyranny. It only means that the majority are the tyrants. A constitutional republic based on individual liberty is key, and Islam IS mutually exclusive with personal liberty. You can't have both.

As for being better than last week? That is still not clear. It is probably at best the same as last week, as Mubarak was not a dictator, but rather the military's figurehead. They will now seek out a different figurehead.

Wow. Sounds like that hope and change the Egyptians asked for, will work kind of like it did for us in ‘08.
