I think that can be put into the list of unintended consequences Mubarak thought Obama will be a strong ally... little did he realize what Obamas real agenda is. On the other hand, Mubarack IS 182 years old (or something like that), so there's always the possibility that he was in cahoots with Ubama. He undoubtedly knows what a cushy life Yasser Arafat's wife is leading in France at the expense of the American taxpayer, so maybe he decided it's time for him to cash out and enjoy his Golden Years.
Mubarack: "Yo, Barry. You want Egypt? How much you got left in your stash of unspent self-stimulus funds?"
