True, free enterprise Conservatism in Iowa is tenuous at best. Even those cloaked in the GOP banner come from a long line of "progressive populists" from the upper midwest (such as Bob La Follette) and the grange movement.

Ag welfare abounds in Iowa and its neighboring states.

But don't we import gas and oil? Aren't jobs killing imports bad thing? All we have to do is buy only the stuff we make. This is buy American at its finest. oops...forgot the
