If ethanol was so damned good, the free market would prove it. True, free enterprise Conservatism in Iowa is tenuous at best. Even those cloaked in the GOP banner come from a long line of "progressive populists" from the upper midwest (such as Bob La Follette) and the grange movement.
Ag welfare abounds in Iowa and its neighboring states.
