The Dems and the Media are trying to sucker them into making statements about cutting Social security or Medicare...
If they can do that then the Dems will scream about the pain and convince those that love those programs to vote Democratic...
That clearly is the plan....

Obama's 2011 budget projects a budget deficit of $1.267 trillion and in 2012 an $828 million deficitassuming that the Bush tax cuts will expire for the rich. By 2020, his budget document shows a publicy held debt of $18.573 trillion up from the 2009 national debt of S7.545 trillion.

A$1.1 trillion "cut" over 10 years is nothing. Almost like compounding a rounding error. And no cutss are made from cutting the entitlement programs.
