Those of you familiar with my work know that I study Maya-Meso-American Calendrics (MMAC). The MMAC system is not what we in the Western world understand as a calendar.
Only the most superficial details about MMAC have been popularized as the now infamous Mayan Calendar and its cycle renewal date of Dec. 21, 2012.
The poorly informed and opportunistic have attributed many erroneous meanings to the end of the Mayan calendar cycle.
The general and popular misconception is one of spectacular natural catastrophe. And there is not a single shred of evidence to substantiate any of the spectacularly catastrophic scenarios.
From my vantage point the catastrophe is upon us and its called Western Civilization version 1.0 gasping for its last few breaths as it strives to maintain the status quo at all costs.
What more calamity do we need in order to recognize that the world as a whole is in the grips of a serious and unprecedented socio-environmental crisis?
You might ask how is the world crisis, the solar sunspot cycle, critical junctures, 2012 and the Maya-Meso-American Calendrical system (MMAC) related.

Sounds like BS to me......
I woke up thinking about this very thing this morning! Of course, it was all “written” in Arabic...
We’re not headed for a solar maximum.
The uptick in sunspots was several years late. This rise IS heading to the next maximum, finally. However, the peak in the cycle will be fairly low, and of shorter duration. (Based on past cycles with an extended low.) I think the Maunder Minimum had three of these low cycles strung together.
Of course, based on the cycles, we are also in the longest inter-glacial warm period so far. So it wouldn’t surprise me if instead of a “minimum”, we drop off into a full-blown ice age.
you post to me : “We’re not headed for a solar maximum”
Gosh, who to believe?

Oh yeah. That'll stop an ELE asteroid...fer shur. /s
That's the part I've been trying to ignore for a couple years - I do not want to think about it. It didn't work out to well for the Vikings or Europe the last time.
‘I forgot to buy hard liquor this weekend...’
Always a bad mistake.
In a fuller study of sunspot activity, there is a proven correlation of sunspot activity to coming and going Accumulated Cyclone Energy hurricanes, temperatures, Glacier Activity, and precipitation. During the lack of sunspot activity, hurricane activity drops off and drought and floods kick in.
One scientist shows a chain of events. A drop in sunspot activity leads to a drop in upper atmosphere humidity which leads to drought which causes dryer lands and more dust and, finally, a seeding of the clouds. Thus, low sunspot activity triggers Floods.
The result is famine. That leads to inflation and some times war. As of today, the Modern europeans and the Americans have not figured that out. The Russians have.
We are now in a solar minimum. This will go on into at least 2040. The droughts will last about as long.
So, we should see some dandy wars out there and maybe here.

According to my reading of the Mayan calendar, I get a free case of beer in Dec., 2012, and the cat will cough up a hairball. What happens after that is unclear. Guess I could build an Ark or drink the beer.
If I don't have a cat, can I have 2 cases of beer instead?
I don’t think you’re wrong.
Yep.
Hats off to you!
That said, failure to understand the solution doesn’t always mean one failed to see the problem coming.
We are entering “winter” in history’s 100-or-so year cycles, but that sure as Hell’s Bells doesn’t mean that the answer is planetary balance or whatever.
It’s all because of Mercury in Retrograde.
At least that’s what my niece tells me.
I asked her about the possible discovery
of a new planet and how this would effect
astrology, she said it was all a hoax and
I told her that’s what I thought about astrology.
