President Obama was briefed Sunday night on violence in Libya by his national security adviser, Tom Donilon, and is “considering all appropriate actions,” an administration official told AFP.
"We are analyzing the speech of Saif al-Islam Kadhafi to see what possibilities it contains for meaningful reform," an administration official told the AFP as anti-government protests sweep across Libya, with demonstrators calling for Muammar Qadhafi to step down. His son warned in a TV statement Sunday evening that his father would continue firing back at protesters.
The official added, "We will seek clarification from senior Libyan officials, as we continue to raise with them the need to avoid violence against peaceful protesters and respect universal rights.

O’s standard reply to situations such as the Libyan revolt should be, “Pretty please don’t do anything that is politically inconvenient for me or which would actually require me to do something.”
