Palin Will Draw a Contrast With Obama in Her Visit Next Month to India
The New York Sun ^ | February 27, 2011 | Praynay Gupte, Contributing Editor

Sarah Palin’s choice of an international venue to deliver an address on “My Vision of America” is canny. She will speak in March before India’s business, political, diplomatic, academic and media elite at the annual India Today Conclave. The gathering arguably possesses the biggest private-sector megaphone in the world’s largest democracy. And while the delegates may not be a microcosm of the country’s 1.2 billion mostly poor people, they certainly make decisions that matter.

Mrs. Palin’s choice is also shrewd because her visit to India will come barely three months after a celebrated one by President Obama. Her appearance is certain to elicit comparisons, however superficial. A presidential visit, replete with pomp and pageantry, is far more of a visual and verbal feast than that of a private citizen, even if she happens to have been an erstwhile governor of Alaska and a former running mate in an American presidential election.

Nevertheless, Mrs. Palin’s India journey is an important one. For one, Indians would like to hear a clearly defined sense of America’s political and economic trajectory. Mr. Obama’s message during his trip last November was replete with predictable bromides and the usual rhetoric of bilateral friendship. He announced some major business deals that would enhance American exports, but these had been anticipated. Indians were less than happy that, however subtly, the president sought to underscore that, in Washington’s view at least, there was parity between an economy of $1.4 trillion, and a neighboring one – Pakistan – whose GDP is $167 billion.

The Obama Administration’s concept of parity, however, has less to do with economics than with a hope — becoming increasingly vain — that Pakistan will be a robust ally in the global fight against Al Qaeda’s terrorism.....

I love how the MSM keeps telling us she's not running even after reading articles like this. Hilarious.

Wouldn’t saying that she isn’t running because of the money et al and she turns around and actually does run upset their meme? It would be a sacrifice then? Heh!

I think she would serve her country better by addressing how the U.S. government can help stop the deterioration of the American middle class, the massive outsourcing of jobs and a business plan to restore America back to her manufacturing greatness.

I am frankly kinda sick and tired of our leaders prancing around the world talking about how America plans to facilitate business in foreign countries rather than the country of their birth.

America's in trouble and unless we wake up, there will be no turning the ship around.

Just sayin

She will make a very favorable impression, if not take India by storm.

I wonder how many American Indians (from India, not Native Americans) will, as a result, donate millions to SaraPAC.

A lot, if I have anything to say about it. It’s going to take at least a billion to finance this next go-round and you know Mr. Soros will be contributing to the Democrats.

What, she will fail to bow to foreign leaders?

How novel!

I hate to sound like a broken record... India may be our most important ally in ten years. Either Palin has very good advisors, or she is looking far into the future.

Effective Leader? Let us pray for God’s sake! This last bunch of pubbies elected are not enough! Sarah, from this vantage point, IS our only hope out of the dismal/depressing field of pubbie presidential candidates; and, her fellow pubbie legislators, always looking for “compromise” would be her biggest challenge! Why? Because in the next ten years the marxist/socialist party (the dims) are proposing to add 13 trillion to the debt of these here United States! The spineless pubs are planning in the same timeframe to add 11 trillion! As uber liberal Mondale once said.......”where’s the beef”?

Literally, there are belated but growing EXPERT/EXPERIENCE OLD HANDS beginning to shout that “the debt” is the single biggest threat there is to national security far outpacing Mr. Bin Laden or nuclear attack! Sarah may be the only politician around today besides Rand Paul who understands the stakes for America and has the guts to tackle the debt head on! Our political system as we know it simply may not be up to the task! 1776 and Boston Commons here we come again! Thank you forefathers for the second ammendment!!

What if Sarah Palin ran for President and picked Bobby Jindal for Vice President?

Palin/Jindal 2012

We vitally need India as a solid ally.

Pretty good there.
I think Patraeus is Petraeus, but I could be wrong on that, though. ;-)

“I think she would serve her country better by addressing how the U.S. government can help stop the deterioration of the American middle class, the massive outsourcing of jobs and a business plan to restore America back to her manufacturing greatness.”

She already talks about this. She’s just bringing the show on the road. I don’t see this as a speech about “how India can be the best phone support center for the U.S.”, but more “a strong and healthy and free America is good for a strong and healthy and free world.”

By the way - was it really that recently that Obama was in India? I pretty much forgot about that trip! (Of course, I ignore any of the MSM news on him, so....)

In this increasingly dangerous world we can not go it alone or with only the support of the United Kingdom.
We need India as an stong military ally in that part of the world.

I’m wary of teaming Palin up with a RINO or establishment Republican who could succeed her and undo much of what she accomplishes.
Witness what Bush I did after Reagan.
