Trigger, shot, shoot, lead, powder, fire: these word may lead to gun violence
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Can’t say I disagree with the above.

Since the Baltimore/Washington Basketball team changed their name from the BULLETS to the WIZARDS, violent acts are virtually non-existent in the whole corridor.

HOWEVER,

You never know when a ‘BANGER’ will start clucking like a chicken.

Another sign of the social collapse of the UK! This will definitely make it over to America since the UK is leading the way for the death of the West with America right behind them.

“I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”

We need to put them out of their Leftist misery.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Night will no longer be called “after dark”. It will be called “after the whities stole the light”.

In reference “Negro Mountain”.

The “Negro Mountain” in Western Md on I68 is being changed to whoever the Negro it was named after.

ALSO

The same ‘newscast’ also said “Polish Mountain” was also being changed.

That almost sounds like it came from Onion News Network, but in today’s whacky society it is probably true.

Educational reasons for the poem "Baa, baa black sheep"poem The reason to the words and history to this song were to associate wool and wool products with the animal that produces it, not to mention the sound that a sheep would make! The first grasp of language for a child or baby is to imitate the sounds or noises that animals make - onomatopoeia (words sound like their meaning e.g. baa baa in "Baa, baa black sheep"). In some of the earlier versions of "Baa, baa black sheep" the title is actually given as "Ba, ba black sheep" - it is difficult to spell sounds!

[ba ba white sheep didn't work sound wise]

An historical connection for this rhyme has been suggested - a political satire said to refer to the Plantagenet King Edward I (considered the Master 'to all' aka :Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!
One for the master, one for the dame...") and the the export tax imposed in Britain in 1275 in which the English Customs Statute authorised the king to collect a tax on all exports of wool in every port in the country.

But our further research indicates another possible connection of this Nursery rhyme to English history relating to King Edward II (1307-1327). The best wool in Europe was produced in England but the cloth workers from Flanders, Bruges and Lille were better skilled in the complex finishing trades such as dying and fulling (cleansing, shrinking, and thickening the cloth). King Edward II encouraged Flemmish weavers and cloth dyers to improve the quality of the final English products.....An historical connection for this rhyme has been suggested - a political satire said to refer to the Plantagenet King Edward I (the Master) and the the export tax imposed in Britain in 1275 in which the English Customs Statute authorised the king to collect a tax on all exports of wool in every port in the country. I thought Sambo’s still existed in So. CA or so on. Very limited, but still technically there.

When we made our monthly trips to our relatives’ place some 2 hrs away, we stopped off for breakfast (sometimes other) at Sambo’s - here in MD. Late ‘70s/early ‘80s, and the only mascot I knew there was a cute tiger (alot like Tony only thinner) with a chef’s hat. I had no idea as a kid at the time there was any “racial” connection.

We had a whole thread about that a few weeks ago. That photo was included.

I drive through Polish alot to my relatives’ (see Sambo’s posts) so am very irritated. Slipped and slid on it a bit in a snowbound traffic jam, too, but made it up. It will always be “Polish” to me.

It was just in the northeast (big surprise) that they tried the name change.

....The restaurant chain has also been suffering from a major image problem. Black groups for years were offended by the company name, which brings to mind the children’s story Little Black Sambo. For this reason, the city government in Toledo tried unsuccessfully to block the opening of a restaurant there in 1978. The company denies the charge, claiming “Sambo’s” is a combination of the names of its two founders, Sam Battistone Sr. and F. Newell Bohnett. The company finally decided to switch rather than continue fighting. If No Place Like Sam’s leads to sales increases in the Northeast, the company may adopt it nationally.

It was a good place!

It’s extra funny (as usually is the case with these non-stories) that the story was about an INDIAN boy. Hell, tigers aren’t even in Africa.

But then, neither are water buffalo. Geesh.

the controversy about the book led to accusations of racism that contributed to the 1,117-restaurant chain's demise in the early 1980s.

I wonder how many "people of color" lost their jobs when the race pimps drove 1,117 Sambo's out of business. I would guess that a minimum of somewhere around 10,000 to 20,000 were directly affected. The number is probably greater than that if you look at the other businesses that were impacted. Growers, pickers, processors, truck drivers, provisioners, maintenance, trash disposal, etc,. etc., etc.

And uh, what color is the sheep under the black wool. I mean it's nothing more than a brunette sheep, right?

Wait, Laz, I didn't mean brunette. Don't get any ideas.
