Unfortunately sometimes I can be very attuned to people’s vibes. When Obama first won the election I sensed a superior yet more welcoming attitude from blacks. Now, for some reason the past week I’ve been getting some very strange vibes, even strange or mean looks from them. I mean it really stands out. Hm. Anyways, I have my first black boss this past year and this has been, ironically, the worst year in my 18 yrs at the company. A lady in the busy office next door to us comes in on her break complaining about how they pick on her for leaving 2 minutes early yet they let the 2 black girls either come in late or take twice as long as their break time should be and never say a word. I was shocked and asked her why does she think that is and she came right out and said the supervisors are afraid to step on their toes because they are ones who will go right back to the boss and complain and he doesn’t want to get in trouble!? It’s almost like in the future WE”RE going to be the slaves.

Sorry to say, but this double standard in the workplace (and elsewhere), has been going on for decades.

Yes, it largely revolves around whites being afraid to look “racist”, and more formally on an organizational level, fear of legal action from the worst possible source; the government.

Watch also how most whites bend over backwards to be nice to blacks, eschewing that same over the top courtesy when dealing with other whites.

This is not limited to self-hating, devoid-of-a-moral-compass liberals. You can see it even here on FR with some conservatives who fall all over themselves to support a black conservative, ANY black “conservative”.

I've seen that too. I was temping at one job, hoping for the company to hire me. They brought in another temp who was a 50ish Black female, about 300 lbs or so and she was obnoxious to the core. She would go and complain to the boss for every little thing that us coworkers did. I don't like to call off work unless I am super sick. I did go into work kind of sick one day, and yes, maybe I should have stayed home, but I try my best to soldier on. My stomach wasn't feeling good that day so I burped accidentely a couple of times. Boy she jumped on me like a gang of Messerschmidts on a B-17 despite apologizing, saying "excuse me," and said I was not feeling too great. I went home early eventually.

This is my opinion but there are times I think I did not get hired because of her.

Another story. In 1976, my parents divorced and Mom needed a better job to support me, I was 10 at the time. She applied to the local transit authority, PAT, here in Pittsburgh. The interviewer said that she passed all the tests and did very well but she cannot get the job because "they have to hold it open for a 'colored' person." (Remember, this was 1976) Mom was fuming when she got home. I think she should have sued, dunno how far she would have gotten but it is the principle of the thing.

My boss at work, we were talking at one time. He said at one point that when Obama was elected, "it took race relations back to 1970 if not further back."

I have to be honest here. I think for the most part, almost all of us can see each other as individuals. That is the way it should be, IIRC, that was the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King. Still there is one component that I and many others cannot ignore that when Blacks group together, except for a few like Walter Williams and so on, they start to act "Borglike." Over 90% voted for Barack Obama IIRC. This turns a lot of Whites, Asians and others off and make them aloof. I know, there are times I feel aloof and on edge. As as Yoda says, "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering." Still many of us, thankfully don't get too far beyond step one or two, (Fear, anger), but you will always have some that are pushed and driven beyond that and that is where groups like the Black Panthers and KKK fall in.

I often wonder if Whites, Asians and others can get along with Blacks, again, I have to be honest. Sure, there are some, but again, when the group politics play into it, it wrecks everything. I am not saying that one is superior to the other, just different, the cultures and expectations thereof are different enough to where there is and always be a lot of friction generated to the point that maybe we need separation. I do wish we all can get along but it seems like there are forces out there who want to stir the pot and there are people that play into that.

Another fear that I have is if this gets out of control in the future, we all might have to make choices we might not like in order to protect our family and loved ones. As one Freeper here pointed out, this is a true test to see if the Black community is ready to pursue the American dream and govern the nation as it should be, but overall, it does not look they are not ready yet. I've had those thoughts too.

I hope I did not offend anyone with my concerns but I think we need to address this in an open dialogue at some point. I don't want to see anyone hurt, but if we do not get a handle on this, this could turn out very bad.
