Disagree. He was simply doing his job. I see this as a case of the wife being stupid and careless. And she died as a result of her own carelessness.
I agree with you. Lazy deadbeats possesing an entitlement mentality that they are somehow owed something freak out and lose their minds when confronted with the reality that actions (not making your car payment) have consequences (repo). They frequently act irrationally. I can easily see this woman throwing herself in front of the car thinking it will stop the tow truck driver from hauling it away. I can also see, in her lack of composure, failing to educate the tow truck driver on what she was doing.
I’ve always said that stupidity should be painful. In this case, it was likely fatal.
It was the tow truck driver’s responsibility to be sure everyone was clear before he attempted to tow the car off.
I don’t like the woman trying to keep her car after not making payments for it, but that is not a capital crime.
If the guy can state, “I looked and I didn’t see her”, and she was in fact in his blind spot, he would probably be okay.
I presume the writer didn’t accurately depict the demeanor of the husband.
You haven't got responsibility as second, third, or even three hundred and forty fifth on your list.
No matter what the person who's vehicle is being towed does, the employee towing the repo has a responsibility to make sure the vehicle is clear before he takes off.
Unlike in your disgusting fantasy world, there is responsibility on BOTH sides.
A case could be made for negligence.
Most repo and tow truck people are ex-con thugs anyways. Thin out that herd anyway you can. Even by a negligent homicide charge.
