An Anchor Point woman charged with the attempted murder of her girlfriend turned herself in to Alaska State Troopers Monday.
Laurie Kalberg called troopers Monday afternoon from O'Rielly Auto Parts in Soldotna, stating that she was aware of a warrant out for her arrest and that she wanted to turn herself in. Trooper Brock Simmons responded and arrested Kalberg, 46, who was taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility and is being held without bail.
Kalberg actually had several felony warrants out -- including ones for attempted murder in the first degree, second and third degree assault, and petition to revoke probation -- stemming from the incident that occurred on New Year's Day of this year. Susan Frewin, the alleged victim in the case, told responding trooper David Chaffin that Kalberg, her live-in girlfriend of two years, had assaulted her and shot at her with a revolver after they had been drinking alcohol at their home in Anchor Point.
