Hope so. I’ve only seen videos of people (in quake) from Tokyo area. Other than the few in various videos on a bridge while the boats go under and whomever was filming. It looks like ghost towns. How awful.

If this is Chernobyl again as some media are trumpeting, the problems will be in and around Japan.

People will die but our sanity doesn’t need to.

Different reactor. All but this one are apparently safe now

I'm not so sure. When the extension of the zone was announced, it was said both No 1 & No 2 power plant areas, Fukushima Daini and Fukushima Daiichi, are under a 20 km evacuation zone now.

From the thread:

The explosion happened at Fukushima 1 (Fukushima Daiichi). This article claims to be about Fukushima 2 (Fukushima Daini).

Enough salt to not only kill you but turn you to jerky. Don’t.

It would be better for a person to just drink a lot of good old fashion cheap red wine. Proven to help against radiation sickness in minute amounts.

“If this is Chernobyl again as some media are trumpeting”

That is where everyone needs to stop and take a breath.

Exactly how informed/educated is the media regarding Nuke power? How long did they go to school for this subject? How many tests and certifications did they have to pass to work in the Industry?

Been apparent over the years many in the liberal media received their degrees out of a Box of Cracker Jacks.

Pause..Take a break and do not play into an environment of created hysteria.

Wait for accurate and rock solid facts from knowledgeable people and NOT those with political and other agendas.

Thanks for the timeline. 10-15 minutes. Not enough time to evacuate. So sad.

Wasn’t the problem with Chernobyl that the graphite caught on fire and was almost impossible to put out, with the smoke contributing to the spread of contaminants?

Interesting..... I just posted at the Reuters live feed site (you don't need to register to do so) and my comment was wiped within seconds.

Who'da thunk that Reuters had all-night censors manning the board?
