There are many innocent Japanese citizens missing and dead. This is a tragedy of historic proportions. Show some respect and stop deliberatly being such a wretched ass.

You do understand they only had about 10 minutes after the quake to get out of the way of the tsunami.

10 minutes after a quake that lasted at least 2 minutes.

Most people would still be wandering around wondering what just happened in a state of shock. Trying to assess the immediate damage much less how to get out, what bridges are okay, what roads are still open, etc...

So yes, many were likely “hanging around” for the tsunami...
