Israel said on Sunday that it would build hundreds of new housing units within the populous settlement blocs of the West Bank after a months-long slowdown in approvals for government-supported construction in these areas.
The move was meant to assuage settler fury, particularly after Friday’s killings of five members of a family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar. But it was also likely to further complicate international efforts to revive stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Works for me. I've been saying for years that Israel should institute a "Land for Blood" policy, pushing out the border for every terror incident. They could even put out little signs, like our stimulus program signs, saying "This sliver of land memorizes the Itamar family," or "Dedicated to those who died in the Pizza restaurant suicide bombing."
Really? Surprise...surprise. It's time for the US to tell the UN to take a hike and move its headquarters to the Mideast where most of its policies are determined in the first place. As to Israel, I hope it tells Obama to stick it where the sun never shines. The Arabs have no interest in peace in the Mideast, so Israel may as well consolidate its holdings there. Personally, I've admired Israel's patience in dealing with the US and Arabs. How many times have they taken territory in war, only to give it back in the name of "Lasting Peace" and then see the Arabs start the whole process all over again. Enough's enough. You can trust the Palestinians and any other Arab state about as far as you can throw them.
