I could support Rubio with energy and enthusiasm.
If we supported Rubio, we would be advocating the same thing that we were lambasting Obama for 2 years ago. That is the experience factor. I like Marco Rubio, don’t get me wrong. But he simply does not have enough political/life experiences yet to become President IMO. He’s not even 40 years old yet and barely qualifies for the office!
Rubio is very clear that he’s NOT seeking higher office.
It would make him ineffective as a Senator, as his motives for any action or speech would be questioned or dismissed.
....POLO!
Long as Rubio doesn’t do an amnesty switcheroo, he’s good. I like him. And Palin, and Cain.
I could as well but perhaps as VP not as President. If there's any question that experience should be a qualifier, we merely have to look at the present occupier of the WH floundering without a clue!
I haven't heard much from him, but what I have heard sounds great. If he is serious about finishing at least one term in the Senate fine. After 10 years in the Senate he could bow-out of the last two years of his second term as a Senator and run in 2020 after President Palin finishes out her second term. ;-) Hmm, he could probably toss his hat in the primary ring in 2016 just to keep President Palin honest, and get his name out there for 2020.
You know, 8 years of President Palin followed by 8 years of President Rubio...we might even be able to un-do the damage {expletive} hussein obama is doing in 4...
The ship is burning, going down fast, no leaders around, and you're worried about what????
I would put Rubio’s understanding of Marxism v freedom up against Obama’s ANY day. I also believe that Rubio is intelligent enough to choose a cabinet of advisers who KNOW how to get things done.
As for age...it’s a number. I’m betting that Rubio has more wisdom and common sense per year than Obama.
rubio parents are cuban exiles. Rubio should come clear as to whether his parents became US citizens.
Rubio is NOT running. He may be on Palin’s ticket though !
We need ‘bigger than the media’ leadership right now. A giant personality in the Senate would be huge for our movement right now. We are not going to get it from the House leadership, it is becoming clear. Demint is another, but he does not have the potential star power that Rubio does.
As I understand it, he was born in the U.S.
“If there’s any question that experience should be a qualifier, we merely have to look at the present occupier of the WH floundering without a clue!”
I used to think the same, but I have changed my mind and I think desperate times call for bolder options. I have listened carefully to Rubio....and he is NOTHING like Obama. If anything, he is the anti-Obama.
DITTO !!
“We need bigger than the media leadership right now. A giant personality in the Senate would be huge for our movement right now. We are not going to get it from the House leadership, it is becoming clear.”
This is EXACTLY why I think Rubio would be good. I know he has stated that he’s not running.....but that may change.
West & Rubio are both from Florida. If you choose Rubio, then you can’t have West.
Let’s give as much effort (or more) to finding good delegates to the national conventions - GOP & Dem.
Let the Delegates make the final decisions on nominees!
In the primary, I want to vote for delegate(s), not some candidate.
Absolutely. I think very highly of Rubio, even higher because he has firmly said that he is not a candidate for either President or Vice President {and I believe him}.
Experience doesn’t necessarily need to be political. But in any case, he was previously the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives - no small feat. He has held political office more than a decade.
