Egypt has 200 F-16s and 1000 Abrams tanks.

If Egypt wanted to enforce a no-fly zone, she
could do it on her own.

If she wanted to overthrow Ghaddaffi, she could do it
on her own.

Tunisia, which just had its ‘revolution’, also has armed forces.

Obviously they don’t want to do this for some reason.

Egypt has always believed that the eastern part of Libya was logically a part of Egypt. Maybe they feel
that if Libya falls apart, they can “intervene”, occupy the area, and eventually claim it.

Or, maybe they just don’t want another Islamic state on their
border.

In any case, US forces are not needed in Libya if anyone
is really serious about getting rid of Ghaddaffi.
