Had we got rid of Saddam early on I think things would have gotten worse.. We need to make sure we have someone that is not worse than any dictator that has been removed.

Yes. This is a deliberate step in subordinating America's sovereignty to rule by the UN. Note that the military action such as it is, is european-led.

This is by-passing congressional authority and unlawful

The authority in question is the authority of the People of the United States of America, which we have delegated to our representatives in Congress assembled, and which we did NOT delegate to the President.

Read the end of a real Declaration of War: "...the President is hereby authorized and directed to employ the entire naval and military forces of the United States and the resources of the Government to carry on war against the Imperial Government of Japan; and to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all of the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United states."

The POTUS cannot "pledge all of the resources of the country", which is what is needed to "bring the conflict to a successful termination".

THAT is why the framers required Congress to be the main actor. THAT is why, since the 77th Congress used that language, we have never achieved a victory.

Obama's actions are of course unconstitutional and hence illegal, but he is not alone.

Our stated goal is no longer the removal of Gadaffi, it is only the cessation of hostilities on the ground. This means our goal is for Libya to be split into two hostile factions, thus leading to a protracted feud between the two. This will require a military presence on the ground to enforce the cease fire.

That means blue helmets on the ground and a demilitarized zone of some sort. Permanent crisis requiring U.N. supervision is the end game.

I think most people miss just how contingency prepared, and coordinated the Left is.

They don’t pick up things like the well prepared for contingency stand-by efforts of the Left that resulted in the coordinated assault on the right after the Tucson shooting of Gabrielle Gifford, nor the prepared for, and well coordinated assault on nuclear power we are undergoing currently with disinformation, and out, and out lies from the Left using the crisis in Japan.

These two examples are enough I think to realize just how prepared, coordinated the Left is to move quickly to establish their propaganda under any circumstance. They do have a war room.

A "broad coalition"now consists of 3 countries?
No wait...it may be up to 5 countries now.

That explains why the media is "counting" every single missile launched like a little kid shouting "are we there yet" on the highway. We may be the only one launching them.

Good points Qaddafi has lots of cash stashed for mercenaries to do all sorts of harm.

You can't outsmart crazy.

We, NATO have to dig him out now, hopefully the French are up to it, they hate him more than anyone.

Then they definitely don´t have to fear an attack from us.
Why bomb terrorists when we can allso use our military to attack the libyan army which never was a threat to us.

"This is bypassing Congressional authority and is unlawful."

It certainly is, but it's nothing new. Our Dictator has been bypassing Congress since his immaculation. Not only bypassing, but buying it off with bribes of our tax money, ruling by executive fiat.....and perverting and simply ignoring the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

On the other hand, Congress is emasculated and doesn't seem to know it, has no guts to think and do anything about it, and allows tyranny to rule the land.

The People are obsessed with Charlie Sheen and American Idol, too dumbed down to understand what's even going on in the Middle East and Wisconsin, and content to have their foreign and economic news slanted, controlled, censored and partially-reported as long as no one diddles with their basketball tournament telecasts.

We place our hopes on the new young Turks in Congress only to see them being beaten down by a combine of old-guard RINOS and the 'Rats.

Obama sees all this confusion, complaceny and ignorance and uses it to steadily march ahead with his communist/fascist agenda. The middle east nabobs and the rebellious rabbles in each little satrapcy see our weaknesses and go crazily about their various murderous errands which lead to....what? Who knows, who cares? A complete Muslim caliphate ringing the Mediterranean save Israel? Aw, no....that's only Beck-talk.

We do NOT have a comic, irrelevant boob leading our country....we have a pestilent destroyer at the helm.....slippery, conniving, dedicated, focused, bold, single-minded, and above all....EVIL.

He has quietly and deftly rendered the members of our houses of congress impotent and irrelevant despite their flailing pretenses of still being important.

And now, in one overnight swoop, the UN is our controlling authority on war. It will be used on any future occasions where it can be employed for cover for the Obama administration's ambitious globalist purposes. Does anyone even realize this?

In case anyone still remembers we have a third branch of government....it's called the Supreme-Court-Totally-in-Fearful-Hiding-from-the-Pretender-to-the-Throne. Furthermore, it's staggering that our fate is in the hand and mind of one single, erratic Justice....so we tend to put the Court out of our minds because of our trepidation of what it can do to us.

The Usurper is like the "damned, elusive" Scarlet Pimpernel. He strikes quickly and quietly from the shadows, accomplishes his mission, then re-assumes his playboy-ish, un-threatening persona, slipping immediately away to Hawaii, Rio, Martha's Vineyard and other exotic playgrounds of the world whereby he can distract the populace as he mingles with the rich and famous who don't know or don't care he's actually the Red....um, Scarlet Pimpernel.

We have our work cut out for us, fellow freepers and patriots.

I recall similar statements about the Shah in Tehran in 1979. Wolfowitz might want to consider how that one turned out.

But we can’t stand idly by when a tyrant tells his people that there will be no mercy.

I see this published and posted over and over again. Qaddafi, addressing the armed rebels, who are supported by al Quida and the Muslim Brotherhood and who attacked Libyan forces, told them that they could lay down their arms and avoid any sanctions or, if they continued to fight, there would be no mercy showed toward them. This is not the impression the MSM tries to impart that Qaddafi threatened innocent civilians that the Libyan government would show no mercy towards them.

The propaganda on "our" side rivals anything Qaddafi puts out.
