The west has only a brief window to do any of this stuff before the public opposition starts to ramp up the opposition, making it almost impossible to continue.
Seeing that this mission has at best lukewarm support, Moe-Mar can wait it out. It isn’t as if the rebels have any chance of bumping him off.
Then WTF (I don't mean win the future) are we doing this? I thought it was humanitarian, and backed heavily by the rest of the Arab countries. If the Arab League is now against it, it is yet another example of how fleeting Arab gratitude is, as I commented before the decision to get involved.
The only thing I give O a little credit for is, that once the bad decision was made, making the French and others take the lead on the airplane action, rather than jumping to have the US do it all.
