My grandson is allergic to peanuts. When my 11 yr old daughter was in school she was friends with a boy who was allergic to peanuts. I was the class mother & we made sure everything we gave the children was free of peanuts or peanut oil. His life was no different then the other kids. As a matter of fact the kids in the class were very good about his problem. It was their parents who were the ones being difficult. They made more of a stink about it then there needed to be. If it was their child they would want every reasonable precaution to be taken too. But they couldn't understand that for some reason...

I home school now & I don't know what my daughter in law will do when the time comes for Matt to go to school. We just do things without peanuts & peanut oil. Matt will not have emotional scars even if he isn't home schooled. He will deal with his allergy like a normal kid would. And I don't think I like your idea of putting all kids who have life threatening allergies together. That right there might scar them.

But the kids themselves were not able to bring peanut butter sandwiches for lunch?

It isn’t my job to police the world of peanuts for anyone’s kids but mine. Want to insure a peanut-free world for your kids, keep them at home.

I do and would resent any attempt for anyone to tell my kids what they can and can’t eat because of another kid’s problem. For too damn long, people have been making their problems OUR problems to society’s determent.

Just like welfare Moms, I say raise your own kids and leave me out of it. It takes a village indeed!
