Russian Ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, said Saturday that a ground intervention in Libya would amount to an occupation, and stressed the need to stick to the UN Security Council Resolution.
"Conducting a ground operation will be described as an occupation of Libya and this directly contravenes the terms of the resolution adopted by the Security Council of the UN," Rogozin said in Brussels. (AFP)
If they do not like it why abstain the vote??
my theories on the abstention include 1) confidence the end result will be detrimental to american interests due to the state of our government and leadership and 2) some very large bribe.concession on something related or not having been promised to them, which they would believe from the guy who used the anniversary of the soviet invasion to nix the missile defense deal with poland.
And China?
I will add that countries that don’t have a problem fighting back proportionally seem much less concerned about the events happening in the middle east.
Europe and the US, otoh, are weak and heavily subverted from within, and cannot conduct a proper war to save their lives, literally.
i have read that china has oil interests in libya, almost certainly those interest are a factor in western action. It is not impossible they have quietly suggested that they would like to see this action as well, with some given range of outcomes that protects their interests.
Their public statements are about as meaningless as russia’s without actual real actions to back them up.
Down with Putin! Down with the puppet Medvedev! Down with KGB Inc.!
Get chill, Mishiko, I don’t want to see your head exploded:)
