As with the Balkans and Libya, the euro plan is to instigate the US into doing the heavy lifting. This is what Biden was warning his friends about shortly after the election, when he said something to the effect that "You're not going to like it but you will have to stick with us."

He said it would have happened already, so the time line is a bit off, but it is more clear every day that Israel is in the obama gunsights. Hope all those Manhattan Jews who voted for him and insulted Sarah Palin are happy.
