Some Georgia cities formed over the past few years are too white, according to members of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus who have filed a federal lawsuit calling to dissolve the city charters of Dunwoody, Chattahoochee Hills, Sandy Springs, Milton and Johns Creek, Atlanta Business Chronicle broadcast partner WXIA-TV reports.
The lawsuit filed Monday contends that Georgia lawmakers created white majority governments when they formed new cities and that black voters may have lost the ability to elect people they want to hold office.
State Representative Wendell Willard, R- Sandy Springs, denied the claims and said cities got Voting Rights Act clearance from the U.S. Justice Department before creating the new cities.
“This “diluting minority votes” claim is a red herring. It’s an attempt to force whites in these towns to pay for, through taxation, the dysfunctional southern sectors of Atlanta. The black caucus hates independent, heavily white cities because they want to be able to siphon off their money for their own people and their own pet projects.”

I lived in Little Five Points for 11 years. When Sandy Springs broke off, it didn’t have anything to do with race.
These racists need to go get real jobs and stop creating hate.

I live just south of Decatur, near Avondale Estates. The Dekalb County school board just closed Avondale High School and our neighborhood has been redistricted into the Druid Hills High School cluster (the Druid Hills neighborhood is pretty much unchanged from the days of Driving Miss Daisy. Emory University is there). There was a chance that we would be redistricted to the depressed Towers High School cluster, but the fairly affluent whites in my neighborhood raised hell and demanded to be included in the Druid Hills plan.
Decatur, Avondale Estates, Druid Hills, Lavista Park and Oak Grove are attractive Dekalb County destinations inside the perimeter. Outside, Gwinnett is in trouble. That's on your border.

Actually I do not vote based on skin color never have never will. I am for anyone who has America first in their minds and note I am saying all Americans.
Actually I find it funny to be labeled white, many people who go back thru their family lineage may be shocked by what they find. Myself Irish, Scottish, German, Native American, Hispanic-Latino? yeah I got some Texas root’s.
Go to any city that has a Martin Luther King Street/Blvd/Road and take a close look at it. Then go over to a “white” section of town and note the difference. This is a micro example.
Then go to any nation in Africa and compare pictures of their infra structures before “freedom” and after. Don't want to go to Africa - try Nassau, Bahamas, or Jamaica. get away from the centers that cater to White tourists and you will see the same thing.
IMHO in all three examples those who can and want to leave and live better do. Those who don't stay and expect some parent figure to come and take care of them.

Where whites live is now selected at the pleasure of the negro. Whites are becoming a conquered people.
That just means that suburbanites like myself (who hate living in the city for many reasons) have to deal with the urban ghetto trash that got pushed outward.

As a long time resident of some of these cities, and Atlanta in general, I can tell you the Black Caucus's beef has less to do with race and everything to do with money. These cities were the funders for Fulton County which houses the bulk of Atlanta.
When these cities seceded from Fulton's grasp, they took their tax dollars with them. To exist, to thrive, Democrat politicians, Atlanta politicians need every dime they can get their hand's on. Without funds to buy votes, their pathetic, corrupt fiefdoms turn to dust.

People are free to live wherever they want and even form a town or city.
If you are black and you want to make difference move to those communities.
Trust me, you are the only thinking about the color of your skin. We never think of it until you bring it up.

How about a counter suit in all black communities. Same excuse and let’s watch the double standards.
Maybe the Justice? Department should look at voting districts that are gerrymandered to include only black areas, for high democrat voting percentages.
given that Detroit is now 85% black as opposed to 25% black in 1960 that is hardly a surprise and signifies nothing extraordinary.
They do want their money no doubt but there is a racial component to what is going on..no question. I don't live in Atlanta but am from somewhere hit much worse with this demographic upsidedownness over my half century lifetime.

but in the end if black culture is really so messed up..worldwide to be honest..with a handful of exceptions maybe...then whose fault is it actually now...at this late date?
whose fault was it when Arab traders and Europeans first hit sub Saharan shores centuries ago that they were more advanced and Africa was still rather primitive?

when Aussies hit Australia and found Aborigines in their state?
or Europeans came to America and found a less advanced peoples?
and now here we are 100s of years later and these groups still lag to varying degrees and we now blame ourselves and make excuses for them when they fail
to me that is intellectually dishonest and wrong and does them no favors
not to say there are not laggards in all groups but we promote a sameness that is nonexistent

peoples of the world in general prosper with motivation and being held accountable and it's not sinful to take pride even if you come from a group that did actually once have a disproportionate impact on everyone and in my view more positive than not...contrary to what folks are now taught about the west and whites and what our own President truly believes that America is predicated on an evil past
I do not believe that...quite the opposite in fact but believing as he does is exactly what has helped create this demographic morass far more than discrimination ever did. Everything those that did the discriminating feared is now happening in case nobody has noticed btw. And who now is most prejudiced and discriminates most?
Ya'll tell me...and don't give me platitudes about Democrats and Liberals...I wish it were that simple.
Actually, I don’t know why the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus doesn’t just skip the middleman, and just directly sue white people for being white. I mean, being white is discrimination against blacks, right?
