I think what they mean is they would be our earliest copies. Paul died about 65 A.D. While I would like to believe that they meant the earliest copies, I think the wording is more insidious, to deliberately mislead the uninformed that there was something before Paul's writings that render his false.

hermetically sealed.

If it comes from the days of early Christianity, hopefully it will disprove the nonsense some people believe in Orthodox Christianity was invented by Constantine and that “true Christianity” was the Gnostic kind out of the Devince code. That Jesus being only a prophet. There are relatively few people that truly believe in Gnostic Christianity, but part of their belief is that Jesus=God was created in the early 4th century and maybe some will see Jesus for who He really is

Like why we are giving weapons to Muslims so they can kill Christians. And allowing the muslim radicals to take over the middle east and circle Israel - with nuclear weapons.

Which scripture are you referencing for that? Just want to look it up. You mean the little book that he ate and it turned his stomach sour?

“Open it up. What could possibly go wrong?”
Remember, before you open it up: “Klaatu Barada Nikto” (just make sure you don’t have Bruce Campbell doing it for you).

Could particulate residue on them be dated? It said some were sealed. Sealed in what and can that be dated?
Interesting find.
To: BenLurkin
hermetically sealed. Damn! Then these here "metal plates" are obviously forgeries as they were not, in fact, hermetically sealed!!

John referenced the Seven Seals of the Revelation. Google em.

some debate whether we have enough - others say we have more than adequate. It seems to me that the details are not the significant information in the Bible. The WISDOM is in the principles.
My interest lies in first establishing the authencity of this discovery, and then what it says.
Good luck with that part. It appears that NO ONE KNOWS where these plates are, now.

By the way, does it matter if these here "plates" were found in a sealed mayonnaisse jar on Funk and Wagnal's back porch?? Seriously? Uh, yeah ... a mayonnaisse jar didn't exist back then. First we determine the age of this find, to see if it's authentically that old. Then, we read what it says; because the Bible has been edited and re-written over and over for nearly a thousand years. Books have been discarded (17 books are 'lost', if memory serves). The Bible as we know it today, contains about 80% of the books mentioned in the bible. We are missing a lot; what was in these missing books, no one knows.

Conveniently, I believe that lead cant be dated.
Well, Shazam! Lookie here! Jesus had four brothers and a sister. And he officiated at her Lesbian wedding. And he espoused Marxism. And this version of the Sermon on the Mount says "Blessed are the Environmentalists". And....

Maybe they were conveniently “returned to their angelic guardian”.

Perhaps these documents were saved from the Church in a book burning episode when a few determined who and who would not be deemed heretics and assembled PC writings into the BibleMaybe they were government leaflets showing Jewish kids what would happen to them if they pissed off the Romans.
