POLL: Trump's 'birther' strategy working in NH... (via Drudge)

"A Donald Trump-Mitt Romney showdown in New Hampshire

Looks like Donald Trump's win-the-birthers strategy is working in New Hampshire — and that’s coming at the expense of front-runner Mitt Romney.

Romney leads the first-in-the-nation primary contest in a multitude of scenarios involving difference candidates, often by as much as a 2-1 margin, according to a survey out Tuesday from Public Policy Polling. But when Trump gets into the race, Romney’s edge shrinks to 6 points, 27 percent to 21 percent.

If Trump isn't included in the survey, Romney draws 32 percent of the vote, with Mike Huckabee a distant second at 15 percent.

The difference is the birthers: The Democratic polling shop found that Trump leads Romney among those who doubt President Barack Obama’s citizenship 22 percent to 21 percent. A previous PPP survey found that 42 percent of New Hampshire GOPers don't believe Obama was born in America.

The survey of 384 Republican primary voters in the state has a sampling error of plus or minus 5 percent."

Bravo!

The only one of the possible GOP candidates I detest more than Willard is Elmer Gantry and his sycophantic so-cons.

And here I thought that I was the only one who equated Huckabee's "fake sincerity" with Elmer Gantry...

Worked great for them in 2010...right?

If you are suggesting that birtherism would have been a winning issue, Republicans ran away from it in the 2010 elections and achieved historical gains.

If you want to try to argue that birtherism will play a role in the 2012 election, fine, make your case...but don't try to rewrite history.

“Donald Trump didn’t get to where he is by being a dummy. Something tells me he already has the answer to his “birther” question and is waiting to play the TRUMP card at the right time.”

I’ve also been thinking along those lines, he wouldn’t have brought it up only to be ridiculed unless he has something.

I doubt Trump has the BC (it probably doesn’t exist), but he may have an “in” with some college administration folks. All it would take is one solid indisputable piece of evidence debunking the “story”.

1) Last week He basically told Michael Savage he’ll announce in June.
2) Last night on O’Reilly, Bernie Goldberg said he’s been told Trump will run.

As I have stated before....he will NOT run.

Please feel free to tell me to eat my crow if he does; however, I don’t think crow is on my menu for any time in the near future.

Trump made his fortune through leverage and inflation but hasn’t done so well since inflation went away. Might Trump really be wanting to see hussein reelected in hope of a return to 1970’s style inflation?

I don’t know if Trump was there. If I remember correctly, it was kind of a hush-hush gathering of conservative-type folks.

And give Hussein four more years? No way.

If the choice were between Hussein and Trump, I’d vote Trump.

I think at least Trump loves America.

If Palin was there in a “hush hush” Conservative gathering it seems my prayers just might be answered for her running in 2012.

I can’t see ANYONE but her to correct all the wrongs that have bestowed our country for these past many years.

Reminds me of the song “I Only Have Eyes For You”. Putting one’s eggs into 1 basket is usually a foolish thing to do; however, I see no one but Sarah to correct the evil that has been forced onto us and our country.

For me, it’s Sarah or bust. God will forgive us or He won’t. Time will tell.

Media scorn didn't stop Ronald Reagan (right), and it won't stop Trump, Scarborough writes.

Probably correct. Trump has been in the celebrity and business press on and off, hot and cold for years now. He's far more experienced than most with the media and also has the personality and confidence to give as good as he's sent, or better.
