According to Wiki, his first job was in Santa Barbara, then to Athens (Huntsville), Alabama (1989), then to Atlanta (1992), then to Fox (1996) and WABC (1997)in NYC. That fits what I recall from the time I listened to him out of Atlanta.
I checked Wiki too and I may be off a few years, but he sure as shooting started out on WABC in a late night spot and was a completely different person.
