Amid the threat of a looming government shutdown, House Speaker John Boehner is getting emotional again.

Per ABC News's Jon Karl, the Republican leader, who is known for his tears, was updating the House GOP caucus this morning on the ongoing budget stand-off when his emotions got the best of him. As he was thanking fellow Republicans for sticking with him amid the tense negotiations, the GOP lawmakers rose to give him a standing ovation, prompting Boehner to weep.

"Yes," a person at the private meeting tells ABC. "He cried, but only briefly."

The crying jags are not winning any points. It seems that this speaker is sold out to the Democrats. Paralyzed by emotion and fear.

Hey, I understand where he’s coming from. But it’s looking like we need a Tea Party Speaker.

He's an embarrassment. Paul Ryan needs to lead a mutiny against Boehner.

Boehner is such a milquetoast weenie. Does he have mental issues? I get the thing that it's OK for a man to cry at times (loss of child, loss of parent, loss of etc. etc.), but this guy is becoming a caricature of himself.

Boehner is a fool. I despise him more than Obama.

At least Obama stands for something (everything wrong).

Boehner is a liar who only wanted to cut 30 Billion and is constantly crying and whimpering.

The GOP purposely but this idiot in charge instead if Bachmann so Obama would look good.

The AP just reports this to make conservatives crazy.

And it does. Now I am envisioning him welling up and boo-hooing at this very moment in front of Reid and Obama. All they have to do is tell him how much they respect and admire him. They'll have him down to one billion in cuts by eleven p.m.!

I see his continual weeping as a symptom of excessive alcohol abuse. He looks the part...and his emotions betray him......too many “3 cocktail lunches”...He is not unstable...he is a drinker.

Come on, GOP; dump this guy. He is an embarrassment. He’s wishy washy and doesn’t have the steel necessary to run the House. Retire him as Speaker and let him return to being just a weepy congressman who can be seen and not heard.

My God; how did we get stuck with this guy as Speaker?

“How in the Hell, did we get this weak kneed crybaby foisted upon us?”

Well, he is a Republican, right?

The only Republicans who have any balls are the women. The men may be chestbeaters on the election trail, but when it comes to the warpath, they are cowardly eunuchs.

At a time, probably more than any other in history, when we need clear, strong, articulate, fearless leadership, we have a sobby, squishy, emotional crybaby as speaker ...

Boehner has got to go. He is not an opposition leader.

Stable, sturdy leadership. There is so much to undo that crying fits would make the job virtually impossible. What are they feeding these people?
