Hoekstra should stop giving us advice. We tell him and the rest of those GOP Politial fixtures what to do.

I never trust anyone who looks like he/she has a year round sun tan. That is why Boehner is the wrong guy to be in the fight on our behalf.

No Sale. We’ve been screwed over too many times by Republican leadership over the years.

Alan Keyes:

“John Boehner chides the GOP congressional representatives with enough integrity to insist on being true to the promises made to their constituents. But if politicians renege on the promises made to their constituents at election time, why should anyone trust them to be true to the promises they make during the legislative process? This is especially true given Congress’ track record over the last several decades. During that time, compromise has been the byword of the congressional budget process (with one brief and notoriously propagandized exception in 1996.) The compromises always involved commitments that would supposedly end the upward spiral of spending and debt in (___) years (fill in the blank). But it’s self-evident that the United States would not face the impending prospect of bankruptcy and economic collapse if a) the compromises were more than political theatre that neglected to address the real problems (e.g., Social Security, Medicare, pension fund guarantees, etc.), and b) the parties had kept even the (inadequate) promises made in those compromises.

When promises can’t be trusted, compromises can’t be trusted either. A trustworthy politics of compromise will therefore not be possible in Washington until we have an operative congressional majority composed of representatives who have proven their capacity to be true to their promises, despite every maneuver used to intimidate them. But will the forces that dominate the present party system ever permit the election of such a majority? And were it to be elected, would they tolerate legislative results true to the mandate of the people?”

If Boehner doesn't stop this crap in D.C., then he'll have lots of tanning time when we throw him out of office. I'm getting sick and tired of his lousy excuses for kissing fannies and making excuses. Floor those ba$tards and shut down the gummit'. Do it! Spit in their eye and show some leadership!

I don’t understand. Harry Reid talks about the Tea Party. On John Boehner’s Facebook hundreds of liberals have been bashing the Tea Party since 7am trying to get him to cave (I noticed more liberals there than conservatives giving John support)

I never went to the streets with a sign. I never considered myself an “active” Tea Party and it may be the same with many Freepers. But I support them.

Tea Party IS us! The American Tax Payer. When they refer to Tea Party they are talking about Americans who work (most likely in the private sector) and pay taxes and care how our tax dollars are being spent.

The media and the democrats try to define the Tea Party as an organized national group with a national headquarter somewhere. The Tea party is US. When they insult the “Tea Party” they are insulting us.

STFU Hoekstra, they work for us!

If we do not increase the debt cieling then they cannot borrow any money and can only spend what is coming in. This creates a balanced budget and cuts spending.

Absolutely NOT!

Let him [and them] feel the hot breath of the general public going into the next election.

Keep their feet to the fire.

Get to that ‘promised’ $100 Billion in cuts made, and we could back off a bit. Until then, NO WAY.

Tired of comments about people’s appearance. How does that have anything to do with an issue of substance? Don’t care for childish remarks. it erases all other points you are trying to make.

Yes, let’s give Lucy a little more time to grip the ball tighter in order to yank it away. How many times have we heard this in the past only to get royally screwed by some “ bi partisan compromise” No now is the time to tap dance on his windpipe until we see no evidence of classical republican wimpiness. If we were wrong then we will tell him...” better put some ice on that”

John Boehner and the GOP leadership better start asking "How are the Democrats going to pay for all of this spending?" You could tax every Millionaire at 100% and you still would not pay for the spending. Apparently Barack Obama wants all the "disposable income" from every American.

Agree that Tea Parteries should keep the pressure on ...
but all must recognize that only ONE branch of govt is trying to do the right thing..
the other two still have their heads up their a**es and the power to prevail...
the nightmare of 2008 is still with us, unfortunately...

I think that Boehner does need some slack (a small amount).

Look, we know that Washtington is out of touch with the rest of the nation. Conversely, the rest of the country does not fully grasp the particulars of the alternative surreality that operates in Washington. And Boehner has to operate in that weird milieu.

Fundamentally, Boehner is on the right course for the time being.

If the Demagogue Party succeeds in imposing their narrative, it won't matter if Boehner was 110% faithful to Tea Party ideals. There are enough Sheeple to be swayed by State Run Media propaganda if Boehner seems to be too inflexible.

I got frustrated with Trump yesterday when he said on Hannity's radio show that Paul Ryan is "too far in front." The Donald wasn't criticizing the substance-- only the perception. We all know that Ryan's plan is only the first step in really getting our house in order. But if you can't even sell this plan, what makes anyone think that you can sell the voting public on a truly radical plan?
