Your spin on this has been overwhelming.

It's how I feel. I am not comfortable putting everything we have into a small cut. I do feel comfortable, however, putting everything we have into MEANINGFUL cuts.

Do you really believe that losing every battle is the way to position yourself for winning the war? Nonsense.

Have we, indeed, lost every battle? Or is that a perception problem? I offer the following wins and decent showings as a counter to that perception:

• The total reported 2011 budget cuts were 78 to 88 billion, against the promise of 100 billion. Decent showing, to my mind.
• In Wisconsin, an attempt by unions to steal an election and intimidate a state have failed and backfired horribly on them. Clear win for our side.

This is true. It points up what can be accomplished with true leadership and by not caving. I fear this is not the situation nationally.
