Boehner NEVER promised to get trillions in cuts in 2011; I'm surprised at the number of Freepers who were expecting it.

This budget was not the Repubs'...it was the Dems' budget. There was no time for hearings, etc. They were thrust into an ad hoc situation because the Dems did not pass a budget (exactly because they wanted to confuse the Repub base which is happening).

The trillion dollar cuts are now laid out in Ryan's 2012 budget. This is where the serious cuts will begin to be made. Even then it all won't happen in a year...but we are on the right track.

The “budget” is and always has been irrelevant. Appropriations is the whole ball of wax, and the GOP once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Boehner and his cabal could learn something from the Dems: never diss your friends.
