Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Rasmussen Reports ^ | April11,2011 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 04/11/2011 7:01:22 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 19% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -20 (see trends).

Today’s numbers reflect the lowest level of Strong Approval yet recorded for this president. There has been a sharp decline in enthusiasm among liberal voters.

Currently, just 37% of liberals Strongly Approve of the president’s performance. That’s down from 63% a year ago, 57% at the beginning of 2011, and 52% a week ago. Some liberal commentators have expressed disappointment with the president over the extension of the Bush tax cuts, the military action in Libya, and, most recently, the budget deal to avert a partial shutdown of the federal government. While liberal enthusiasm may be declining, 57% of voters believe the president is more liberal than they are.

By a 48% to 37% margin, voters recognize that to significantly cut government spending would require making major changes in National Security, Social Security, and Medicare. Those items make up a majority of all federal spending.

This poll reflects liberals' disgust with the budget deal.

It's plainly evident on all far-left blogs too.

I believe this is the lowest strongly approve (19%) he has ever received. His speech on Wednesday should drive the strongly disapprove up to about 45%-46% by the end of the week. That would give him about -25.

If you take out "white guilt" this guy's popularity will be down the tubes for good by summer. I don't know how he recoups. I don't think he can.

His low in March was 57% disapprove. A little off that mark.

Obama’s approval ratings are so low that Kenyans are claiming he was born in America.

Six months from now, this administration will think of this as “the good old days”.

I wonder when the “guilty whites” are going to figure out that they got ripped off when they “bought” this guy as absolution for their “sins”.

Interestingly enough he dropped below the 23% brain damage factor.

Now even 4% of brain damaged voters him, or, he’s lost 4% of the hard left.

That’s why he’s going on TV (yet again) this week. To try to rally the middle class. He’s going to pump up the union people and the left wing by announcing a tax on the rich. That’s all he’s got left - class warfare.

I’ve learned recently that “class warfare” isn’t a tactic of Marxism, it is inherent in the worldview, it is THE base assumption of Marxism, that the “classes” are inherently at war with one another, even if they don’t recognize it.

I don’t think he can. “

you might be right...one of the questions seems to be, “where will the left go?”

like Bush in 1992 with difficulties on the right, if they go elsewhere, then he is history....

it is not a done deal. but Obama can be defeated.

I don't think you've seen anything yet in terms of gasoline prices or the mid east completely falling apart, which affects gasoline prices.

The economy will be a shambles by 2012. This guy will be toast.
