CHOCOLATE BISCUIT CAKE
W/ hands break into ¼-½-inch chunks (not crumbs) 7-ounce package McVities brand Rich Tea Biscuits (in cookie aisle).
BATTER Micro on high 1½ minutes, or until bubbling cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons honey, ½ stick butter. Add 16 ounces bittersweet chocolate bits; stir/melt smooth. Stir in tsp vanilla, then crumbled biscuits.
Spoon the mixture into sprayed 7-8 round springform pan, using back of the spoon to smooth top. Gently tap the pan on counter to eliminate any air pockets. Refrigerate 3 hours to thoroughly chill. Once the cake is chilled, prepare the glaze.
GLAZE Cook on med 2 tablespoons butter, ¼ cup heavy cream. When the mixture reaches a boil, remove offheat; add 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Carefully remove the sides from the springform pan (slide a paring knife at edge). Invert the cake onto a wire rack, then remove the bottom of the pan from the cake. Set the rack over parchment paper to catch drips.
Pour Glaze evenly over the cake, allowing it to drip down and completely cover the top and sides. Allow to firm up, then transfer to server plate. Refrigerate leftovers.

Sounds like it’d be good!
They took care of not giving a darn about this stuff in France in 1789. United States, 1775.
sounds good!
Doesn’t sound like the Prince has very extravagant taste in desserts. Seems to be a quick-fix type of homemade cake-rich and good tho!

So I do this in the cookie aisle of the store? LOL...
‘BATTER Micro on high 1½ minutes, or ...’
Nothing like the shame associated w/ being a microwave batterer. Does that come under culinary violence?
Im sure my rendition of this recipe might be different than imagined....
I love McVitie’s. However, it is best to put them in the refrigerator after you have open the package.
This thread is useless without pics!
It sounds good, but where is the photo to drool over?
I'm sorry, but dessert is a very, very important topic that no country should ignore.
WGAS?
Sounds yummy...
Maybe if Marie Antoinette had had some of this cake, to give out ....
That sounds really good, I may give it a try.
Oh bloody hell..who cares??
Razbinn...YOU obviously care (you took the time to post)...and
Liz...love the recipe. Sounds delish (maybe an accompaniment to tea on April 29 whilst watching the nuptuals?)
When they ran this recipe in my local paper earlier this week, they said that this is Queen Elizabeth’s favorite tea cake and she used to enjoy it with Wills when he was just a tot.
