Are you at all aware of Mark Levin's credentials as an active Constitutional attorney?

Yes sir, so why are you here? I think you'd be more at home at KOS or DU.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg also has fine credentials. What's your point?

I think Mark Levin can define a NBC. That’s my point.

Are you comparing Levin to Ruth Bader Ginsburg? That’s absurd. What point are you trying to make? Or are you just trying to cause pointless bickering?

Since you seem to be fixated on the birther issue, suppose you answer a question for me:

What would be the consequence if Obama’s birth certificate showed he was born in Kenya or Indonesia? What would be the remedy?

Do we file suit against him and ask the courts to eject him? That would take long and how in the world would you enforce it? There is no constitutional mechanism or provision that gives the courts power to order an unqualified person out of office, whether he was born elsewhere or was under 35 (which would also be grounds to disqualify him).

What is your next move? Impeachment? Forget that one because you will never get two thirds of the current Senate to vote to remove him.

What is you next step? Insurrection?

Face facts. The only way to remove him from office before January 20, 2013 is an election. (And there are plenty of reasons to defeat him.) Of course, he could be ruled ineligible to run for reelection, which would give the Dems a new candidate with a better shot of retaining the White House.

Is that what you want?

Trump is a demagogue. He is using this issue, which leads nowhere in terms of positive consequences for the country to attract support from people who think it will make a difference, and some people are being taken in by it. It is a diversion, a rabbit trail to nowhere, since nothing on his birth certificate is going to eject him from office. All time spent on the birth certificate issue saves Obama from having to address his cascade of policy disasters. Trump is indirectly carrying water for Obama in this regard.

Levin realizes this and has outed Trump and done conservatives and the country a great service, as usual.

Trump is a demagogue. He is nothing more an ersatz version of Huey Long, but a far less gifted orator and less talented intellectually and politically as well.

If he enters the ring with Sarah Palin, she will skin him alive.

I do wish he weren’t against it so strongly. That’s for sure. I can’t apologize for him.

If Palin doesn’t defend the Constitution I won’t support her either. I’ll write-in LTC Lakin if need be. So far he seems to be the only one who attempted to uphold his sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Agree with you about the demagoguery BC. Trump is also someone who would use a state agency to steal an old widow's house so he could build a limousine parking lot. It took SCOTUS to stop him on that one. No wonder he gives so much money to democrats...good for business. I would never trust someone like that, especially when this country is on the precipice. How would I know whose interests he was pursuing? We don't have the time for guesswork anymore.

If he enters the ring with Sarah Palin, she will skin him alive.

She can't wait for him to run because he could actually help by crowding out some wannabes early so that this race can get down to brass tacks quickly.

Having said that, do you really think he's going to subject himself to the financial disclosure hoops that an official candidate will have jump through? Just curious what you think since I have my doubts about that. He's talked like a candidate before and never crossed that threshold.

Hi. Excuse me for butting in but you've brought up a very important and valid point here:

"He (Trump) has donated to hack Democrats like Reid, Schumer, Hillary for business reasons. You want to build something or expand a gambling operation you have to flatter and pay off the Democrat mafia. Donald is not a theoretician. He is a businessman who also has to protect his co-investors in a project. And some of those co-investors are lib democrats."

Some FReepers have ragged on Trump because he's contributed to Rahm Emmanuel's Chicago Mayoral Campaign. I've tried to explain that it was solely due to business reason's as his 'Trump Towers' in Chicago has recently opened.

The fact is that if Trump didn't come across with the cash, Rahm could and WOULD make life miserable for Trump with every Building Inspector imaginable going after him -- from the Elevator Inspectors to Sanitation Removal and Kitchen Cleanliness in the Hotel. They'd even cite him for having a portable hand-held Fire Extinguisher One Foot out of place.

Anywho, you're the first FReeper I've seen (besides me) to layout the Business angle, and necessity, in Trump's donations to the demonRATS. So thanks :-)

That's all. Carry on.
(and have a Good Day)

So that makes it OK, right?

Principles? Who needs them as long as business is good...

I doubt it, Al. He has a long history to defend and a boxcar full of baggage, personal as well as political, as Levin ably points out. He is not in any sense a conservative, less so than Mitt Romney. He can’t win the GOP nomination. No way. No how. His only route is third party, and his so-called birther constituency will melt away like snow in July when they realize that a vote for third Party Trump is a vote to keep their bete noir Obama in the White House.

Think about it. John Anderson, who was squeaky clean personally and a serious candidate, managed only 7% against Reagan. Trump, a traveling freak show (to call him a caricature is an understatement)would not do as well as Gene McCarthy in 1976 or Pat Buchanan in 2000. 1%, maybe less. If he drew any slightly decent percentages they would be in the Northeast, which won’t be in play. If it’s a GOP landslide, any showing at all by a third party Trump in the Northeast could tip those states to the GOP nominee, who is going to be “you know who.”
