I’m good...nowhere near the tornado, thank God, one of my neighbor’s trees just decided to snap about 12’ off the ground from a 40 mph straight-line gust and fall on my truck and the corner of the house. Looks like maybe a dent or two and a smashed gutter, OK other than that.

The tornado has been on the ground for about 40 miles and may still be moving through Raleigh’s northern/northeastern suburbs. Reports are coming in of large trees down all over the place, roof damage, multiple brick buildings badly damaged on South Saunders St. south of Raleigh downtown. This was the real damn deal. Sanford, Holly Springs, and downtown Raleigh apparently all got hit.

Finally heard from my friend down there, the cell network was overloaded, couldn’t get through until now. She had a funnel go right overhead but nothing on the ground in close proximity. Superficial damage, everything’s OK. That’s a relief.
