Palin back with a bang: Sarah eyeing Republican nomination
The Vancouver Province / Reuters ^ | April 17, 2011 | Nick Carey

Conservative Sarah Palin returned to the U.S. political arena on Saturday after several months absence with a feisty speech attacking both the establishment Republican Party and Democratic President Barack Obama and proclaiming "the 2012 elections begin here."

In a move apparently aimed at keeping her name in the running for the Republican nomination in next year's presidential election, Palin addressed several thousand people in Wisconsin, a state bitterly divided by a political fight over union rights.

Palin has been mostly absent from politics since the January shooting of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona, when she was criticized for accusing opponents of manufacturing a "blood libel" against her.

As snow and sleet fell on Madison's main square, Palin attacked the budget compromise between Republicans and Obama on cuts of around $38 billion instead of $100 billion promised in elections last November.

"That is not courage, that is capitulation," she said...

So will they redouble their attacks on her now?

I like Sarah. I hope she will re-think her establishment support of “free trade” and globalism. Barring that, she’s just another insider candidate who looks good on a lot of issues but still won’t rock the boat of the establishment in both parties.

Not before Madame President-to-be has her say. The difference is now we expect it and will be forearmed to attack back. That is, the patriots will attack.

The one thing that scares the pant(ies) off her opponents is that she tells us the truth. The elected elite “promised” $100 billion in cuts. We get a measly $353 million. That’s like promising us a steak dinner and giving us a lollipop. Memo to Congress: “Strike One”.

Now comes raising the debt limit. Let’s see what you got.

I will say it was an excellent speech, good delivery, inflection and tempo, and, she hit all the right points, without a teleprompter yet, just from notes.

Will see in the next couple days who takes umbrage. When well aimed rocks are forcefully thrown at a pack of dogs, the ones which yelp and howl the loudest, got hit.

A question I hope will get some straight answers:

Should Palin run and win, what have we got in terms of Congress that will support her policies?

Last November there was a lot of talk about the Tea Party victories, and Palin’s support meant a lot for many of those.

And here we are, with this budget farce going on.

So, should Palin win, will she be rendered powerless by the folks who want ‘balance’ or are there enough potentially conservative Senators and Representatives waiting in the wings to make these dreams of real change happen?

What a pant load. You think protectionism is the way? Free Trade has to be the back drop. However, it has been too long that America has been a Service economy rather than a producer of our own goods and there is a reason behind this. Taxes, Excess Regulation, etc. You can't be a true Free Trader without cleaning up your own internal barriers to being competitive.

Palin gets this. But, it takes Congress and an aggressive push to dismantle the enormous stacks of delegated "laws" that the insane level of regulation has become. Palin has put her finger on how to solve this problem and that is pushing for a Congress that is prepared to roll up their sleeves and do the business of the Great Country rather than have their way with it.

But, in the end, it is up to us. We send a bunch of candy tail RINO's to Washington and we will get more RINO Poop.

Folks are still going on about how horrible it is that Castle wasn't elected Senator. They forgot that he almost single handedly started the Tea Party attending Congressional Town meetings in force with his condescension and RINO hard headedness. We are better off without another Spectre. Really.

Remember Reagan, in the 80s he went around the congress and took his case straight to the American people.

With today’s new alternative media, as president she can address the people like no other politician is capable of. Bring pressure to directly bear upon individual recalcitrant congress critters and have them moaning like whipped curs.

Have you been paying attention?

Free Trade is joke if only one side is playing fair. Are India & China opening their markets to us? No, they aren't. We are getting screwed. They sell their cheap crap here and we get to sell nothing there.

This is similar to how socialists blame the "free market" for the 2008 crash. When we do not have a pure "free market system.

The real prejudice in America is that a woman won’t be elected President. How does Hillary lose to Obama if she’s a man? She doesn’t.

America is just not ready to elect a woman and as unfair as that is it’s reality.

You forget that today’s “new media” requires that the users personally select what they view. The
“old media” which, although declining, still reaches over twenty million viewers which are forced fed the liberal biased news. The insidious part is that viewers psychologically give more weight to that which is presented as news rather than that presented as commercials or the content of web pages.

Should Palin run and win, what have we got in terms of Congress that will support her policies?

In 2012, 435 Representatives and roughly one third of the 100 Senators face reelection or replacement.

State legislators, several governors, state Attorneys General, state Secretaries of State, County Commissioners, County Clerks, Assessors, elections officials, judges at various levels, school boards, various hideous mysterious commissions and boards in most states, etc., also will face elections.

What are We the People doing to further advance TEA Party candidates in all these races? That's the question to ask.

Just as Dims use the Bully Pulpit to spread bald-faced lies, it can also be used to point out undeniable truths - The Gipper made that clear. Palin has the gonads to point out the lies and explain why they're lies. Too bad the current pond scum we have on "our side" won't do it. They call it "civility", but that's just a nuanced term for "cowardice".

You need to get a clue about Economics. They sell their cheap crap here because we buy it and we don't make cheaper crap here. If we made cheaper crap that people wanted to buy here.. who cares if they can buy our cheap crap there. Get it?

If the Chinese people want to subsidize America by paying for our towels and back scratchers thats mighty odd. Hardly strategic industries. The truth is that the US gets an economic advantage for buying cheap crap where ever it is cheapest.

Where we are really really really really missing the boat, it is deliberate sabotage, and that is in Oil where we have loads of it and refuse to use our own and we buy Trillions of dollars of it from the Middle East and no they aren't buying our crap either but are you complaining?

If she is president, the old media will not be able to ignore the new media, or her. She will also be able to give weekly addresses, hold live news conferences and give speeches in prime time. Palin will not be shy about making her points and getting them across unfilered to the people.
