Earlier in the week, I posted a video of reactions from students when asking them to sign a petition calling for the redistribution of GPAs.

This drive me up a wall FR postings using acronyms without at least once translating their meaning. That even incluse GPA.
Very well done. The libs see earnings as different. These kids have been told for years that the very rich don’t deserve what they have. The risks of ownership have never been explained to them. The rich have been conceptualized into a non-entity, not really a person.

Wait until these students get out into the real world and see how much comes out of their paychecks.
That's because they've had it pounded into their heads for 12 years (by marxist teachers, no less) that those "slackers" are just unfortunate souls that are in their financial position not because of lack of ambition and effort but by bad luck and the evils of self-serving capitalists that - gasp - wish the enjoy the fruits of their own labor.
Perhaps this illustrates a good reason to raise the voting age back to 21 - so that people that vote have had at least a little chance to experience reality before casting their first ballot.

I admit I was a bit distracted by the audio quality and the video shaking. If you want to continue with this type of production, I would suggest a cheap DIY “stedicam” and an expensive shotgun mic with wind sock. (might get one on eBay)

Since you know the “term”, (GPA is not a “term” it’s an acronym.) how about sharing your little secret? This is not twitter where we’re “texting” to the rest of the kids. If and when we post a story in FR, Free Republic, this is where those posting a review should understand they’re explaining to the rest of the world what the article they post is about for that is who reads it.
What I got from the students was that redistribution was fine as long as it did not take from them!

You need to have two petitions. The one you have asking them to require the redistribution of GPAs and when they refuse to sign that one ask them if they would like to sign a list that would make sure that their GPA is exempted from the redistribution scheme when it is put in place.
Our kids have checkbook registers and they "earn" money or lose money in mostly increments of $5, $10, $20. On Tax Day, the teacher decided the kids should pay taxes on their balance. He went through, taxing the kids with a balance of $800 or more at a higher rate than the kids that only had $50.
At one point the teacher said, "Let's just give some money of your money to the kids who didn't earn very much....to make it even. The kids howled! No way!
In the end, it was a great 15 minutes well spent and a real hands on lesson for the students.
