I had a feisty 35 minute sit-down with Donald Trump today in which he dug in on the "birther" controversy, answered Club for Growth’s charge that he is a “liberal,” talked about a possible independent run and answered your questions.
But we began with his get tough approach on gas prices:
Trump: Look at what’s going on with your gasoline prices. They’re going to go to $5, $6, $7 and we don’t have anybody in Washington that calls OPEC and says, "Fellas, it’s time. It’s over. You’re not going to do it anymore." I don’t know if you saw yesterday, Saudi Arabia came out and said very strongly there’s plenty of oil. "We’re going to cut back." You know what cutting back means? They’re going to drive up the price even further.
Stephanopoulos: So, what would you do to back up that threat?
Trump: Oh, it’s so easy George. It’s so easy. It’s all about the messenger. They wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for us. If it weren’t for us, they wouldn’t be there. These 12 guys sit around a table and they say, "Let’s just screw the United States." And frankly, the rest of the world. …
And Trump was even more specific on what he would do with the Iraq oil fields: seize them.

Humility is not a politicians best virtue. Not if he ever expects to get elected. No humble person could ever look in the mirror and think that they had what it takes to run this country and it was so obvious that they could convince a majority of Americans to agree. No matter how they ACT in public they're ALL ego maniacs.

That he seems to be to the left of Olympia Snowe in most matters does bother me though. I like what he's doing with his take-down of Bambi, but I'm not about to jump on the bandwagon of someone who has been to the left of most RINO's.
Trump is a caricature of a conservative. Too bad some Freepers don’t understand that.
Does anyone remember 1979-1981? Does the Iranian hostage ordeal ring a bell? Carter was ineffectual in dealing with Iran, botched a rescue effort, and was a laughing stock by our enemies worldwide. Reagan, the candidate, basically said if elected President, he would go in and bomb them till kingdom comes (or words to that effect) and bring the hostages out. Within hours after Reagan's inauguration, the Irans cried "uncle" and set the hostages free. Here's the thing about "talking big", though, you HAVE to be willing to follow through on your threats. The Iranians caved and didn't call his bluff. Trump, I surmise, is pulling a page out of Reagan's handbook.

Incorrect. I’ve never voted for a DEM at any level of government. My Congresscritter has a 100% ACU rating, and I don’t suppport liberal scam artists like Trump for president.
