The state I live in "Certifies" that the name I go by is the name I was born with. Since I am adopted, this is an absolute lie, but I have a birth certificate which says so, so it must be true right?
The fact is, without seeing the ORIGINAL birth certificate, you don't know if Hawaii is telling the truth or not. They will simply repeat whatever has been entered into the record even if it is not true.

Most divorces involving adopted minor children include court ordered amendments to the minor child's birth certificate, but the state will routinely refuse to disclose this information.
We know Obama’s COLB was amended because it has a “Date filed” on it. If the COLB was an abstract of an original vital record due to a hospital birth, then it would have a “Date accepted.”
